This USB switch is already a favorite on my desk and is well above average quality for “generic†electronics. The housing is a nice change from plastic and feels like aluminum that will stand up to electronics bags with other accessories in it. No rough or uneven edges and all seams fit nicely. It comes with two cables and no permanently attached cable out of the module to hassle with or damage rolling up.This will allow 2 PC’s to switch between using one USB device or 1 PC between two USB devices and it works among my devices perfectly. I’ve used it to switch between programmable, radio interfaces - one of the pickier applications for USB switching with no problem. It switches decisively, no lag or mushy feeling action and consistently every time. Also used with an external CD DVD drive and portable printer from my older Apple MacBook Pro and newer one.It’s in daily use and I appreciate the compact convenience. It will be in my bag on trips where I am presenting or doing media and don’t know what to expect for resources or connections. Definitely will add another one for family when needed. Again, quality is much better than expected.

In the kit there are too cables for connecting the switch. The switch worked great, but one of the cables was bad. Since I didn't want to return it to Amazon, I got another cable. It's hard to find a short one and it cost about half of what I paid for the switch with two cables.I'd love to receive a replacement.

Anytime the device switches, it give an error message on windows saying that there was an issue recognizing it but input works fine.

This is exactly what I needed. I work from home and also do gaming on my PC. My gaming mouse isn't well suited for when I am working and vice versa.So enter this nifty little switch. It allows me to plug both mice in and only have one active at a time. So when working, I have my work mouse active and when playing, have my gaming mouse active. the great thing about this is it is USB 3, so no tradeoffs between the mice. It can handle the gaming part and work part equally well.Overall, a perfect switch for my needs.

I was hoping I could get two outputs from one data input “cloning†simultaneously. Unfortunately this device requires you to manually switch between outputs.

I have a digital microscope I use to examine coins, but it sits right next to a downward-facing camera I use to take pictures of them. The problem is, I only had one port between them, and the microscope lights up (brightly!) whenever it receives power, and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.This did the trick.I have both now plugged into this awesome adapter. I keep the toggle on the camera, so the microscope doesn't stay lit-up all the time. But when I need it, it's instantly ready at the touch of a button! It's a nice, sturdy component that feels well made. And it's nice and compact, so it doesn't take up much space. I love it.
