What causes an electrical surge?
In stormy weather, when thunder happens close to the transmission line, the conveying circuit will create induced surge voltage. This can also occur when a large electric device is turned on in the power circuit. Both types of induced surge voltage can interfere the electric devices connected. The first type can damage the devices.
Frequently used surge protection components
Surge protectors can be added to the power circuit to prevent the damage. The surge protectors are constructed with different types of surge protection components. The most frequently used ones are MOV, GDT and TVS. MOV has medium energy absorbing capability and response time, so it is widely used in simple surge protection circuits. GDT has large energy absorbing capability but longer response time; TVS has response speed less than 1Ns with small energy absorbing capability. All three of them are used together to construct professional surge protection circuits.
POWRUI 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit
POWRUI is one of the few Surge Protector makers which uses TVS, MOV and GDT to make 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit that absorbs the energy in steps, providing the best protection of the electrical devices from voltage spikes. When the power surge occurs, TVS responses within 1ns to suppress the unwanted voltages to the safe threshold. Then after several ns, MOV starts to continuously absorb energy. Within a few hundred ns, GDT works to ground a large amount of surge voltages, then triggers the circuit breaker to break the circuit and completely protect the devices.
The advantage of this kind of circuit is large energy absorbing capability which could reach 1,000 – 10,000 joules with <1ns response time. But the cost is high.
Other Brands 1-Level Surge Protection Circuit
Most of other surge protector makers use 1-level MOV parallel circuit, that connects multiple MOV components with surge protection functions to certain joules. The advantage is simple circuit and low cost which can meet the surge protection needs to under 1000 joules. But the energy absorbing capability is low with slow response time, that can only be used on basic surge protector.

Simple Installation
Simple installation, just plug in: Just plug in for duplex outlet and décor outlet. The screw included can be used to secure it on duplex outlet. The plastic prong at the bottom is for reinforcement purpose also.
For USB receptacle and GFCI outlet, the plastic prong needs to be cut off before using.

Very sturdy and easy to install. Extremely practical because of the different usb ports as well as increasing the plug capacity . Stick out a bit because of the amount of plugs but not too bad . I love the light feature. Great permanent fix to loose outdated outlets

I used this product in the kitchen which is wonderful with all the usb ports and the ease to be use by the amount of products that can be plugged into it and the night light feature is great for those dark moments before you can turn on lights. The usbs charge pretty quickly. This item is definitely worth the price!

I think the concept is great; I have two of these wall chargers that double as night lights.Pros: - minimalist design; takes much less space than most of my other wall chargers - has a night light that does work - 6 plugs and 2 USB, very useful - doesn't have that ridiculous plastic post in the wrong place, like many brands -- it fits in any regular US wall outletCons: - The angle prevents the side plugs from being used for anything with a wide adapter (e.g. many smart plugs) - No USB-C - Last but not least, the night light is ugly.The light is mottled and nonuniform around the rectangular ring. I tried taking a photo with my iPhone, but the result is totally unrepresentative of reality; in the photo it looks like the coolest sci-fi night light ever. And right next to what I see on the phone screen, the actual light itself looks like you're shining a flashlight from behind a hunk of rose quartz.That's the second (and worse) problem with the light. It's pink...ish. Hard to describe, there's also some peach or orange in it. It clashes with every other light source near it, whether it's daylight 5500k, soft white 3500k, or warm white 2000k or whatever -- it doesn't fall anywhere on that spectrum, because the light is not white.So if it's your only light source in the room (unlikely?) then it actually looks OK and you don't notice the color. But as soon as any other night light or other light is on nearby, it starts looking kind of ugly.For these reasons, I'm going to replace them once I find something better.

This helps tremendously with organizing all of my cords that need to be plugged in. I love that it also has a USB and USB-C option, to plug in my phone and my watch charger. The multi-light option is perfect when I’m getting ready for bed.

I bought this for use in the bathroom and didn't pay attention to the fact that it wouldn't properly fit (the screw) with GFI. Didn't care and it's been great for the past 4 years. At first I thought it was faulty bc the light would go through the dim cycle during a steamy shower, but it must be the condensation that builds up. Just tap it back where it should be (this doesn't happen to everyone in the house, but my heat tolerance is very high) and all will be right with the world again.

Hasta ahora bastante bien el producto ya que no solo tiene las múltiples entradas, sino que también se ilumina con 3 diferentes niveles de luz o tenerlo apagado.
