It's obviously not real when you're holding it, but it looks good and it feels good in the hand. "Feels good in the hand" may sound like a weird thing to say about a fossil replica, but if you're using this for anything other than decoration, it's probably to demonstrate the ways paleontologists think the claws were used in life. And it helps to have something that feels good in your hand when you're demonstrating it. This easily fits between the knuckles of my hand to demonstrate the sort of movement and use it might have seen for either holding or attacking prey - the leading ideas for how it was used in life.

I ordered this for a last-minute Halloween costume for my boyfriend, who was going as Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park. It was the perfect final detail!I was surprised at the weight and quality, given the cost, but I’m not one to look a gift raptor in the mouth. It would also make a fun little gift for the dino-obsessed kid or adult in your life. Definitely a good purchase!

My grandson is a HUGE science/nature/dinosaur lover. He wants to be a paleontologist. He just turned 13 and we are redoing his room into a more grownup version of his passions. He was really excited about the claw, and he doesn't hate it - but he is disappointed that "it looks plastic"
