Following the recommendations to order one size up and it's just perfectly fit. My kiddo is 8 years old and ordered size 10. She is athletic and slender. Size 10 is just fit comfortably but for only this summer. Next year I would order bigger size. She plays hard at the lake. Climbing on the floating logs and jumps off. Wearing bikini is not for her but cute length shorts is perfect for her.

Shorts were off satisfactory quality and the advertisement for this product was an adequate likeness; The pink Color in the ad was pretty true to the actual shade we received... wish there had been other colors to choose from.My nine year old is not more than 75 pounds and 56†tall, with narrow hips. These shirts were ridiculously big on her skinny frame. However, due to the hidden inner belt (elastic and adjustable), I was able to adjust it to fit her and it did the job. She could have gone down a size I think, but I’m fine with this because she grow into it.She Tried these out last Sunday and they never threatened to fall off and held up to playtime in the pool (she is not a swimmer though, so I can’t say how well they work for a real swimmer).

First, super cute print and high quality product. My 24 mo. granddaughter is very tall for her age but not super heavy. I bought her a 2T based on their size chart and I think they will not fit around for more than maybe 3-4 months. If your kiddo is beyond the middle of the range, I'd size up.

My 10 year old daughter really doesn't like regular bathing suits. She's much happier in board shorts (so am I LOL). These are perfect - the liner inside means no need for an extra bathing suit bottom, the pocket is handy, and the velcro and drawstring/adjustable waist is great for my petite kid, and it means a bit of room to grow. And of course, the sun protection is fantastic! She is very petite (under 50 lbs at 10 years old) so we went with a smaller size - Size 8 - and it fits her very well. She loves the color! We have a separate long-sleeved rash guard to go with it.

My daughter said, “why do I have to wear underwear when my brothers get to wear shorts?†That was a great question!!! I told her you can wear what you want and ordered these. On our second pair due to a growth spurt. Big fan and my daughter is thrilled, comfortable and better protected from the sun.

Good quality, lined board shorts for girls. Was a little sad they were not as bright of a purple as advertised as I was trying to match, but good, thick, quick-dry material, we'll stitched. Looks like it will hold up well

I'm not keen on the sexualization of our youth. I want my daughter to know that she is valuable and she is beautiful, simply because SHE IS. She is smart and talented and loving and funny, and who she is and what she is is not contingent on a diminished hemline playing to society's demand for sex appeal. And, yes, I believe that teaching starts young. And it starts with teaching her that her body is precious and sacred and worthy of being covered. In this regard, these shorts are the bomb. She loves them because they are pink. I love them because they provide coverage and sun protection and a strong feminine vibe. I highly recommend.
