Introduction
Rod end bearings are mainly used to support parts that require low concentricity, high working surface pressure, and slow swing and rotation movements. The advantage is that the ball insert permits the rod or bolt passing through it to be misaligned to a limited degree.
Structure & Material
Material: The #45 steel casing and hardened bearing steel ball swivel ensures long service life.
Finish: The spherical surface of the inner ring with chromium plating and the rod body surface with zinc-plated.
Application
Widely used in engineering hydraulic cylinders, forging machine tools, automation equipment, trucks, lawn tractors, boats, industrial machines, go-karts, and many more applications.

Used it to build a kicker tie bar.Order a 3/8-24 die to cut a 3/8 metal rod from Lowe’s. The ends fit perfectly over a 3/8-24 bolt on motors

The heim joints have very little play if any and they move freely. I am unable to comment on their longevity however for my application (custom cat 0 3 point linkage on the front of a garden tractor) they will work well. Only issue I had was I had to order more due to only receiving 3 instead of 4 so I was 1 short. I'm not going to deduct a ton of rating from the review due to a shipping issue though because the product itself is good.Update: The second set I ordered also only came with a single heim joint. I really wish they would at least update the page telling you they no longer sell as a pair.
