Toggle bolts are anchors for gypsum or metal, wood ceiling, hollow walls or hollow blocks. The wing exerts force on a larger bearing surface. The pulling bolt is a disposable anchor.
Toggle bolts come with spring-action wings and are intended for anchoring into hollow walls.
The wing is designed to spread apart behind the base material upon installation for firm hold in hollow wall applications.
The wing disperses the weight of the secured item over a larger area, increasing the weight that can be secured compared to a regular bolt.

These are very sturdy and are exactly what I needed. It is an odd size that was not carried in regular stores so I was frustrated with having to order these, but in the end, they did exactly what I needed, arrived quickly, and were fairly-priced for a specialty size.

Pros:- High quality and very strong- Bolt is correct size and anchor works as expectedCons:- The anchor is unpractically large and requires 3/4" drill bit to make a hole large enough to fit through. Not very practical for DIY projects.

I bought these for the wing portion only and to add a longer 5/16" bolt to them for a certain application but they are not 5/16 - the bolts are M8-1.25

I had to use these for the bottom mounts for a 43" TV I mounted at Mom's apartment as the studs ran horizontally vs vertically. It hasn't fallen yet LOL.
