I needed a new grill cloth to replace a pair of 46-year-old Altec 14 Speakers. One of the Altec discussion groups recommended that this material be used as a replacement. I ordered two sets and went to work. The material installs flawlessly and looks sharp. The color is a deep Black and somewhat heavier knit than the original OEM. It appears to be acoustically transparent. Over all it's a great vaule.

The fabric itself seems quite study, but still easy to cut to the desired size. I originally bought this to repair a single speaker grill, that a cat had decided to customize themselves, without consultation.In some non-scientific testing, I could not really discern a difference when listening back to the same music with this fabric Vs. the original fabric that came with my speakers.So, because I really like the burgundy color and how it looks with black speaker cabinets, I utilized it for both of my speakers, which are for (2) 8" woofers and then the tweeters, arranged in a vertical pattern, about 1.2m tall. I still have some of the material left over, as what I received was sufficient for BOTH speakers. I got the option of 50cm x 160cm (20" x 63").

I have never done fabric for a project before, and this stuff made me look like a pro! It was easy to glue down (I perfer Gorilla Glue spray adhesive, but I had to use CRC this time), stretches easy (4 way), and has a great look to it. For those who complained about this product, I suspect they simply like complaining about stuff. My only issue is the wrinkles from packaging. If the manufacturer reads any reviews, please roll the fabric and ship in a tube! If you're the fence about getting this product, just jump,...it won't disappoint.

A perfect solution for those looking to swap speakers in an old car AND update it's look-and-feel. Spray adhesive sticks nicely to the smooth side, allowing consitenty attachment to a grill. It's also pretty stretchy and the side with the "grill" effect not only looks nice but ensures you can't see through the mesh.

Used it to replace damaged grill on an old guitar amp, would have been nice if the cloth was a bit heavier but you can't deny how good it looks
