These are pretty handy for all sorts of random applications where you need a soft, thin-walled piece of metal. With a 3mm ID, they make a nice clearance fit for M3 screws. With a hammer, a philips screwdriver, and a vise, you can split the grommet on the backside to clamp soft material like plywood. Pretty handy product.
