This is such a smart idea. I didn't even know I could buy this separately and use it to refill my depleted canisters. This is an excellent value for the money. It's significantly more cost effective to buy this and refill. It is very easy to use and works as expected.

The famous improvement store sells the name brand Damp Rid 2 lb bag for $4.98. Vacplus is selling a 3lbs bag for $19.99 with a 50% off coupon. Even with 50% off coupon on $20, Vacplus is slightly more expensive but there is a difference between the two products. They both contain calcium chloride. However, VacPlus is 100% calcium chloride and DampRid is roughly 80% calcium chloride, as DampRid also contains other ingredients like sodium chloride, potassium chloride and could contain fragrances depending on the packages. Calcium chloride consists of a nontoxic inorganic mineral salt that naturally absorbs moisture from the air. In general, calcium chloride performs better than silica gels and can withstand tougher humidity and temperature conditions. We got this to use on our boat to prevent mildew and mold from growing in concealed spaces. We live in Florida and it gets hot with high humidity for most of the year. The only dangers of calcium chloride is it can cause skin and serious eye irritation. It is also harmful if swallowed so it should be kept out of reach from pets and children. This material is classified as hazardous under OSHA regulations. The crystals are easy to use, you place them in a dehumidifing container that usually has a special drainage slots below. The calcium chloride absorbs the excess moisture and gradually dissolves it into a liquid brine. By trapping excessive moisture from the air, calcium chloride will eliminate musty, odors, and inhibit mold and mildew. This refill package can be used in the DampRid humidifier containers. It’s more effective and the coupon makes it more competitive. I recommend even though it’s slightly more expensive, it probably will work slightly better than the competitor’s brand.

Calcium chloride refill for moisture absorbers, they appear to be of good quality, however our bag arrived broken open so we were able to collect the contents and use them right away. Other than that, they seem fine.

These pellets are exactly what are in the bags that I hang in my closets and should be just as effective.It isn't humid in my area now, so I can't test this on performance. I used it to refill my Damp Rid containers that I keep in my closets, but it hasn't needed to absorb anything yet.I'm just preparing for the hot, humid southern summer.Should I find that they are not performing as expected this summer, I will come back and update my review.

Like most basements, we get a bit of extra humidity that a humidifier does not always reach. We have containers filled with moisture absorbing crystals here and there to prevent damage to things we are storing. This bag from Vacplus has done a great job of keeping this task going when we refilled those containers. We like that this is also odor/fragrance free. This does seem to do what needs to be done and we like the fact that this refill bag allows us to control how much we put in a container.

Use this under my sink in my bathroom. I have a dehumidifier on top of my sink desk since my bathroom is small and humidity is a crazy problem so this works with it. Can't tell too much but it seems to be doing something as the pellets are a little moist. This was also placed in a little bucket I have but as far as the month I've had this, it seems to be doing well. Will have an update once time passes, but at minimum it works. Only wish this came with more, just read the description to know the quantity you're receiving.

This is a great idea if it actually saved a decent amount of money. This bag should refill six boxes. I have a six box order in my cart right now and when it comes time to refill them I will only be saving $.33 over the boxed price. I'm pretty sure it's not worth the trouble, but I haven't actually refilled yet so I don't know. However, my bathroom is right next to my shower and I always keep moisture absorbers in my closet to keep it from smelling musty. I like this product because it is unscented.

It's a good product, and it works, and it's UNSCENTED! The refill bag is a practical way of saving a few dollars and also not buying tubs of plastic over and over again. So, yea, I have no complaints really. It does what needs to be done
