Bought as a potential replacement for my old Vandoren B44 and Selmer C* mouthpieces, and using #3 reeds, the M30 produces a round sound that helps control and smooths overly resonate sounds from the lowest notes, and harshness from the upper Clarion into the Altissimo. It has enough edge to establish a strong presence, and is flexible enough for correcting tuning and expression.Nice mouthpiece.
