this instantly made a big difference in the tone of the clarinet and it was instantly easier for me to hit difficult notes because of lack of focused breath. I have lung issues. This helped making playing the clarinet easier.

As an adult beginner, I know I don’t sound great, or even good. I decided to try a new mouthpiece because I kept reading that it makes a difference. I have been taking lessons for two years, and it did make a difference! I am very happy with this mouthpiece. It was worth the money. I was using a Yamaha 4C, which was really good to get started. Parents-if you really want your child to have an interest in music and have a desire to learn and play an instrument, it is true, purchase high quality equipment! You CAN judge a carpenter by his tools. I have a new and refreshed excitement about my clarinet.

My husband researched mouthpieces for our daughter, a serious clarinet student. He chose this particular model based on superior reviews. Our daughter had been playing for four years at the time of our purchase and has used the mouthpiece for over a year. Her music instructor, a professional clarinetist, has stated that the next step for her will be a custom mouthpiece. Until then, he is perfectly satisfied with the performance of the Vandoren. I remember how much of an improvement it was to go to the Vandoren from whatever mouthpiece my daughter had previous to it. It makes a big difference in the quality of playing. This is a very good mouthpiece. When and if my son, a beginning band student, gets to the point in his playing that he requires a better mouthpiece, we wouldn't hesitate to purchase a Vandoren again.

Great clarinet mouthpiece! Open enough to allow easy sir pressure to your read for sound production. Very durable with a little care. Matches well with my Buffet Tradition clarinet. Sound is focused and round eith some brightness in clarion. For me, sound production in the altissmo register was better with a harder reed.

The mouthpiece blows much easier than my Fobes Debut. Particularly, the altissimo notes sing much more easily. Not sure if it's because this is a 440 pitch series 13 but where I used to be sharp I'm now in tune. Nice choice. Using Vandoren traditional 3 and v12 3. Warm tone.
