I loved the look of this sugar jar online. And in real life, the look does not disappoint. Its simplicity and the combination of white ceramic with warm bamboo is very appealing. However, I had assumed the lid was like most lids to containers of this sort and would say in place because it would have a suction component. Unfortunately, it does not. The bamboo lid just sits gingerly on top of the ceramic bottom. This means that if thee container is fairly full of sugar, you are likely to spill contents. It also means that ants more likely to discover the sugar bowl in season. I wish they would redesign this so that the lid has some sort of suction. Right now, it seems like something I will have to be careful to warn guests about...

Perfectly sized for sugar on the counter next to the coffee pot. For the price it looks great and should last a lifetime barring any gravitational incidents like what happened to its predecessor.

I got this so I can keep sea salt on the counter for when I cook. They hold a good amount and come with a little spoon if you need to scoop. Otherwise, for salt, you can grab a good pinch and season the food you’re cooking.
