Bought this as a gift, but we took time to "test" it before handing it off. It's not a professional instrument by any means, but it works great. Doesn't take a lot of air power to make the sounds, and it's just a ton of fun. For the music lover in your life, this would make a perfect fun gift.

This is a 32 key melodica, so it requires a lot of air, but it plays nicely and comes with a tube so you can play on your lap. It is plastic, so it feels a little flimsy, but that is most likely because I am used to a vintage 25-key hohner model made from metal. The melodica is a wonderful instrument and this is an absolutely perfect choice to gift a beginner, but when they inevitably get into it, be prepared to look for a more durable model.

This ended up being my sons favorite Christmas present. Plays great and very durable. Liked the extras that came with it. It also sounds really good.

didn't know what to expect for the modest price, but I was pleasantly surprised! it sounds like a high quality accordion! it may be just a toy, but it's a very fine toy that teaches and trains the ear. great value!
