I bought this card to use a GCC Mercury I laser engraver on a Gigabyte (GA-H77N) computer, which does not have a parallel port.I struggled to get this card working with the old C02 Mercury laser engraver. I almost gave up, but today it started working! My persistence paid off.The OS I used for the laser engraver was originally Windows 7-32, and the driver would not work on a 64 bit OS, and has not been updated for more than 15 years.I upgraded Windows 7-32 to Windows 10-32 bit. Note that Win 10-32 will NOT run in UEFI mode and has to be run in BIOS mode, so I added an MBR SSD drive--you can dual boot between UEFI or legacy BIOS, or turn one drive on or off in the CMOS setup. I have the 64 bit Windows drive running on a separate GPT SSD.Things that I think were critical for a Windows 10-32 setup (did not try on a Windows 7-32 platform yet-I assume that would be easier):1) The GCC print driver is not signed so you have to to turn off driver signing. There are a couple of methods. Look it up. Driver signing will turn it back on on the next reboot after you install the driver.2) I made the Mercury the default printer.3) I installed the motherboard chipset info file for the Gigabyte mother board. Not sure that was necessary.4) The Plug and Play setting in the Control Panel settings was set to ON.5) I kept updating the new Windows 10-32 installation until there were no more updates.I am not positive about which items may not be mandatory. Also, I found that failed prints during my setup left a lot of failed prints in the laser engraver memory and needed to be fully purged.THANKS VANTEC!

Pros:- Does exactly what it should do as a parallel port card- Comes with full size and low profile brackets- Has an Oxford chipset that is compatible with LinuxCNC

Updating previous review. Tried it in another PC, and it fried my dongle. Shut down my PC, but apparently, did not damage it.

The single-port parallel card (UGT-PCE10PL) works well with LinuxCNC 2.7.15. However, it appears as "disabled" with version 2.8.4 of LinuxCNC. It uses an ASIX AX99100 controller IC.
