Your cart is empty.The Vater brand was officially established in November of 1991, but the Vater family history with drumsticks started decades earlier, in the basement of Boston's legendary Jack's Drum Shop. There, Alan and Ron's grandfather Jack Adams, hand turned drumsticks for the drummers like Buddy Rich as early as 1956. In the early to mid 1980's, the Vater brothers began producing private-label drumsticks alongside sticks for Vic Firth and Zildjian. A few years of this led to the brothers deciding to move their business to a new factory in Holbrook MA. Over the past decade, the Vater family and product line has expanded greatly, introducing innovative products such as the Splash Stick and Acoustic, and welcoming renowned drummers like Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland, and Josh Freeze. At Vater, our goal is simple. . . to produce the very best drumsticks and percussion accessories in the world.

I really like these brushes. They give me a great feel and are very durable. And the retractable nature of the brush means that I can save the bristles.

Bought these for use on songs that need a softer feel. They certainly do the job, thanks to the wide fan of the bristles. Their retractibility helps preserve them through transport and general storage. Would buy again!

The plastic cap at the end tends to come loose which can be annoying. For the most part however, they are a good set of brushes from a very good company.

There have been many reviews, mostly good, some bad. The bad ones cite how easily some of the brushes fall apart. I suppose it is just luck on whether the brushes were defective, and unfortunately, I received one defective one and one good one. I am usually able to use Vic Firth ones pretty rough with them not breaking, but with one of my Vater brushes, the bristles fall apart left and right when using it for more than snare brushing. Generally a good product, and Vater is a solid company; however, if you receive a brush that sheds bristles very fast, return them immediately and reorder, hoping for the best. I may try my luck with more Vic Firth ones in the future.

ich binn Berufsmusiker und habe schon einige Besen probiert.Dieser wird der erste sein, den ich zwei mal kaufe. . .super Qualität, sehr dünne Borsten, die gesamte Fahne ist ca. 1 cm länger als bei den meisten anderen Besen, schön schwer, liegt toll in der Hand und die Borsten sind nicht so unsinnig weit gespreizt (bei maximal ausgefahrenem zustand)

Ich bin Hobbyspieler, habe auch schon einige Besen ausprobiert und aktuell 6 Paar unterschiedlicher Hersteller zum Vergleich.Besen frisch ausgepackt ... 1. Eindruck betreffend Qualität.Borsten dünn, ja, und weich, allerdings leider nicht ganz sauber/gleichmaessig eingearbeitet. Spreizung bei identischer Länge unterschiedlich, bei einem der Besen stehen Borsten am Rand nach aussen ab, ausserdem sind bei einem Besen 4 Borsten um 2 bis 3 mm länger als die anderen.Das Aus-/Einfahren funktioniert bei Mitbewerber-Modellen leichtgängiger/geräuschloser ... beim Vater-Modell leider etwas "hakelig".Dass die Borsten länger wären als bei anderen Modellen, kann ich nicht bestätigen, allenfalls Durchschnitt.Zusätzlich ist bei meinem Paar der Griff eines Besens um zwei Millimeter länger als der andere.Erstes Fazit: Für diesen Preis erwarte ich einwandfreie Qualität, die leider - zumindest bei meinem Paar - nicht vorliegt.Update nach 2 Monaten:Dieser Besen wird sicherlich nicht mein Favorit ... Durch Weichheit der Drähte und Gewichtsverteilung zu wenig "Power", wenn nötig. Weiteres Manko: Letztes Teilstück des Griffes aus Kunststoff - grundsätzl. kein Manko, hier jedoch kein "glatter" Übergang zu Gummischaft, sondern dieser etwas dicker, so dass sich der entstehende Rand störend bemerkbar macht - bis hin zu möglicher Blasenbildung an Finger(n); das haben andere Hersteller "eleganter" gelöst.
