I wanted to make a generator cable using 4 AWG wire. I was not able to attach the Reliance Controls LL550C 50 Amp Generator Connector (Female), Black using the 4 gauge wire. But, I was to attach the 50Amp Heavy Duty RV Replacement Male Plug with Ergonomic Handle Yellow. This was in March 2021. So, my 4 gauge wire was just sitting in the garage taking up space. I wanted to do something with it. The next best thing was to make a generator extension cord. What sold me on this item was the fact that it stated that it accepts 4 AWG wire. For the price, I gave it a try.For the most part, the terminals accepted the 4 gauge wire. Working with this thick wire was some work, but not too bad. I did not need to "thin" my bare ends. I did use my flathead screwdriver to push the bare wires in. It was more work working with the 4 gauge wire that trying to place the wire in the terminals.So far, I am pleased with the end result. Now, I need to try it out. Form the other reviews, it looks like I should not have any issues.

I was a little surprised when the 6-50R Heavy Duty Outlet arrived. Compared to the last one I had, this one seems to be better made. I especially like that unlike the older ones I have, the plastic cover on this one does not seem like it will break easily and will probably give and spring back easily. I have 2 older ones that have chunks of the cover missing because the plastic was hard but tended to snap fairly easily. As a bonus, this even came with mounting screws which I wasn't expecting.

Hardwired this in to use with a 48 AMP charger. Easy to install, high quality materials, and UL certified. Took me all of 5 minutes to replace the existing outlet that was there and install this one in it's stead. Can't test if it actually pulls the full 50A, since my EV will only charge at 40A, but it certainly delivers that much.

This is much nicer than I expected for the price and we have zero complaints or issues with it so far. This was installed into our garage about a month ago and has been holding up very well. It is hooked up to a a 40Amp Level 2 EV charger and has been going strong with no noticeable concerns. Did a quick "sniff" check to see if there was any smells of burning plastic or other burning smells while the plug was under full EV load and everything seemed to be fine.It's got a lot of good mounting options and getting the wires to stay in place is very well setup and easy to get going. Would recommend.

My gas stove went out so I wanted to switch to an electric one this helped me do that. I would recommend professional installation unless you have some knowledge of electrical so installation can be easy if you know what you're doing.
