3 months and does great on corn, broccoli, green beans, carrots. Nice, it cooks it well but still gives you that crunch.

We received the steamer, cleaned it per instructions, however, after steaming the vegetables, the water turned black on both occasions. I noticed that when I wiped off the black rubber knob in the center of the steamer, that black residue came off on the towel. I will update after the next time of using this steamer.

I had one just like this for over 20 years until it fell off a counter and broke. I was looking for a basic replacement for vegetables, and this one was perfect. I actually had returned one because it was just too small. This one is the right size for a family dinner. Plus, the water well is open (my old one was built in and had just an opening for the steam. It was a pain to dry), so drying and it keeping clean is a breeze. It isn’t really one you would display on your counter, but it gets the job done better (I think) than the prettier, stainless models that are either too small or cheaply built. Plus, mine stays in a cabinet when not in use. Definitely recommend.

This steamer is nearly identical to my last one (vendor not remembered) which quit working after about five years. They've made noticeable improvements, however. The drip tray now incorporates the element sleeve and includes a fill box so you can add water during a steam without taking off the trays. You'll only need to do this on 50+ minute steams and be careful not to overload the drip tray if you're steaming something with a high water content like asparagus. They've tossed the digital timer which is a good thing on a forty dollar appliance. Use the timer dial in conjunction with your kitchen timer. Water level is easier to see. The top cover is now more user friendly. Though I always recommend wearing kitchen gloves (like those from Grill Armor) when touching anything that is emitting steam (I have a visit to the ER to show for not doing so) they've made all the trays easier to separate at the ends and away from the steam. Though recently received I've steamed every food group except shellfish with perfect results. Wait to you see how rice comes out! My two hard boiled test eggs were also perfect using the included booklet's recommended time. Just about every food item you can think of has assigned recommended times in the manual. If it holds up, which I believe it will (just don't immerse the bottom in water; always just wipe it down) the baby is a keeper.

When you get it seems the plastic thin and flimsy you have to take care when using it. Wash by hand. My Mother in law loves it and says it's better than the one she baught 20 years ago. Very pleased.

Well made. I did not find the plastic cheaply made as some reviewers did. It does rice perfectly and the vegetables are done well. You do have to put the baskets in the proper order or steam will escape btw the bottom basket and the steamer. My only complaint is that I found it over priced even though the quality is good
