I bought this to use with my Instant Pot because the trivet that came with the Instant Pot allowed smaller food items to fall through and settle at the bottom. It fits and works better than I expected. It seems well-made and of good quality material; easy to clean, and can be stored in the Instant Pot. Very pleased.

Very practical cooking tool. I use it for making baby food. It’s a straight forward design and the little key ring handle in the middle makes it easy to remove from the pot. Easy to clean but I wish it didn’t have sharp edges. I didn’t cut myself because I was way.

I do not know the reason why anyone would get a smaller steamer since the petals adjust to whatever width you need. I believe you need to be able to pull the pedals all the way down if you‘re steaming chunks of cabbage and the larger one gives you that option while still being able to accommodate a small pile of carrots slices. My steamer came with two of the three legs, which hold it off of the bottom of the pan, slightly bent, but still usable so I’m keeping it, but I don’t like damaged things so I wish the two legs were not bent. The manufacturer needs to put a little heavy cardboard collar to protect the protruding vulnerable little three legs around them just to protect them from other packages, pressing up against this item’s packaging, bending the legs, so it will stay perfect to it’s destination.

I remember having one of these way back and never used it as a steamer. Actually, I don't think I ever used it. I didn't want to buy an actual steamer because then I would be stuck with a certain size pot. I purchased this steamer in the largest size so it would fit in many different size pots from small up to very large, as it conveniently adjusts to the pot size. The steamer works great when open all the way as it fits quite a bit of whatever foods need to be steamed. I do spray the steamer insert with some cooking spray to avoid foods sticking and that's not a problem. I would definitely recommend this steamer insert if you have different size pots and different size requirements for steaming. It is a great addition to my kitchenware.

I bought this particular steamer for two reasons . .1. It has no plastic parts2. It has a stainless steel ring I can use to pull it out of the steaming pan when my veggies are done (which I usually do with a fork).I spent a good 20 minutes trying to make the ring circular, as it should be, and getting the overlap areas of the ring together (took a needle-nosed plier to it and worked at it until it resembled the ring on my 20 year old steamer).It also is very rough to open and close, and the ends curve too much. So this is functional, but I'm still on the hunt for a stainless steel veggie steamer like my old one. Is anything made as well as twenty years ago?ATTN: Manufacturers: Many of us will pay more to get that quality. Case in point: I just paid $1500 each for a Speed Queen washer and a SQ drier that generally last 20 years after putting FOUR washers and driers in the landfills in four years - Outrageous!
