We live in the PNW so it’s very bright in the summer and dark in the winter. This lasted all summer, was easy to install, and blocked out all light. Now that it’s winter I used a butter knife to lift a corner and it peeled off easily with no residue. I rolled it up to store again until summer. Perfect product!

I have a side window in our master bedroom that gets sun streaming through it during certain times of the day when I’m trying to sleep in preparation for night shift. I have a Levelor room darkening shade already but it still allows a 1/4†of light to stream around its edges. With this white film now covering the window I now have no light streaming around the edges. This film is super easy to install if you follow the directions. I bought a window tint kit to help with the installation and it made it a breeze to install. The only thing I would have done differently would be to cut the film to my exact window size before installing. I kept two of the factory edges of the film and left the other two sides overhanging about 1/2†and cut it in place but this film is so thick it was kind of hard to get the perfect cut when installing so I have a small gap that is letting light in on the bottom. Other then that I have no complaints. Since this film is white and not black I don’t have to worry about overheating the window and possibly cracking it. If you need to block light from getting into any area of your house this is the product to buy and it looks a lot better then using aluminum foil. Doesn’t look like a crack house with this film on the window.

Picture: Amazon travel blackout curtain on the left, Velimax white blackout film on the right. Dark picture is taken with curtains pulled overtop of the blackouts. Both pictures taken on the same day, at noonLight: the instructions require that you leave 1/16" of glass free of film around the edges, and a lot of sunlight can come in that 1/16". Other than that, it does a great job of blocking out the light. It certainly does better than the fleece blanket I was throwing over the curtains before this.Application: I found the film applied easily enough. I was able to skip the spray bottle and just use a wet (slightly soapy) microfiber. Instead of trimming once the film was on the window, I measured the window and cut the film with scissors beforehand. In my opinion it's easier than using a box knife even though I did find that I needed to trim a little bit more off the edges once I had started applying since my measurements weren't quite precise enough.Pros: Affordable, darkens room significantly, looks sleek and intentional/professional.Cons: Not exactly "blackout," needs some preparation to apply (could be problematic for people who have difficulties cutting, squeegee -ing, or keeping steady hands)

My office windows COOKS. This is the 2nd time I've used these for a window. Are they tricky to put up? A bit. Are they ever seamlessly perfect ? Probably not. I can never get it to line up perfectly, but they do block the light and between this, blinds, and my black out curtains it is significantly cooler in my office. My perimenopause hot flashes hobbit self is thankful. Someone recommended to also buy a window tint tool kit which did help since it had a cutter, spray bottle, and a tool to smooth bubbles.

This is easy enough to install. The tape tab at the top is brilliant and makes the backing peel very easy. It blocks all light which is very important to me since we recently built a pantry and there is a window in there. The only issue I had was the next morning, it appears to have shrunk away a bit. There is light coming in around all the edges that was not there the day before. It appears to be sticking well otherwise.

I really love this product. I live in AZ, and in the summer time, I put this removable "blockout" thick film on my AZ RM windows that get hit by am and pm sun, and temp drops dramatically. Winter time, peel them off, pitch, and start over next summer. It's so inexpensive, worth the effort. These are THICK, not plastic wrap thin. They have substance and rough-facing texture, so they are attractive if you see them on the windows. The product has one inch squares on back removable panel, so easy to measure. But it is HELL trying to separate the product from it's protective film to place on window surface. easy peasy putting and keeping it on the window. great product. I've bought it 3 times.

It’s virtually impossible to actually use this product to get a complete blackout. The trimming does not work effectively to seal the edges, resulting in thin lines of light that need to be taped over to get rid of. If you’re just looking to block 99% of light and are comfortable having a thin line of light illuminating the room, then this product would suffice. Otherwise, avoid and don’t waste the significant amount of money this costs.

Simple to instal, including cutting to custom fit your window. I purchased the application kit which made it really quick and easy to instal, but it isn’t necessary if you have a spray bottle and exacto-knife at home.I have black out blinds on the outside of the window frame in my babies room, there was still some unwanted light spillage that was causing problems for naps during certain times of the day, with this product I was able to completely black out all of the light spillage, worked like a charm. The window still looks attractive from the outside of my house thanks to the clean white finish of the film and the smooth application. Would recommend to anyone wanting to black out a window.

I was looking for a product to block out the light in my nursery. This item was described as “100% blackout†and so many reviews confirmed the same. I am wondering if people know what 100% blackout means… in my mind it means no light comes through. This product does not work at all!!!! Maybe 60% of the light was blocked but light EASILY shone through it. The product also doesn’t stay up for long, I had to secure it with tape.I ended up ripping down the item and using cardboard on my windows which worked way better!!!! Don’t waste your money!
