Added this to my commuting/utility/kid carrying bike, which has a double legged kickstand and had a horrible case of front wheel flop when parked. I was having a hard time loading and unloading the bike because the front end was always all over the place destabilizing the bike. This device was a little finicky to install because at some point you end up having to hold tension on the spring while tightening a nut or screw. The more tension you want, the harder that will be. I ended up installing with the exact amount of tension on the spring to make it take up the whole spring-guard, and not much more.I expected to notice some difference in steering/handling with this device on the bike, but I really didn't. If there was any, it was negligible in comparison to having an active 2 year old on board. But it completely fixed the wheel flop when parked! It might take me a while to break the habit of bracing the handlebars with my hip though. If you're looking for steering stabilization for when the bike is in motion, you'll have to install with more tension than what I did and I can't vouch for how secure or durable this device is for that. But if you're looking for stability when parked, 5 stars. It works.

The plastic hose clamp thing for attachment to the frame definitely needs a redesign. My son ended up 3d printing a much better clamp which was designed like the one for smaller tube diameters & it's already held up three times longer. Aside from that though it does stabilize the front wheel a bit while loading the front rack and panier bags but it still kinda swinging back & fourth a lot while doing so. I think a slightly more stout spring would have been better so it doesn't have to be stretched so far in an attempt to get more stability & compromising the plastic hose clamp style thing sent with it for attachment to the frame...The included picture is before the 3d printed clamp was installed & after electrical tape was used to help secure it better. It finally gave out the day the picture was taken to send to my son asking for a better clamp to be made.

A great idea, but lousy execution. The only thing this is supposed to do is hold your wheel straight while you load the front rack, and it fails at that. The wheel still flops over sideways and takes the bike down with it. The fender attachment is a nice thick metal tab, but the spring is light duty, and the piece you strap to the bike's downtube is all plastic that bends under stress, so you cannot tense the spring enough to do its job. Also, cinching the frame strap really tight pinches your rear shifter cable. You could probably just make your own version with metal hose clamps and a spring from the hardware store. Boooo Velo Orange, you're supposed to be known for quality stuff.

Product was easy to install and set up. Does a great job of holding the wheel in-position when up on the 2-legged stand, thereby eliminating wheel-flop. I have adjusted to stiff tension and can notice the effect when riding, producing some steering resistance, but that is what I was looking for. Nice, firm steering and minimized road feedback on rough surfaces.I'm riding a Specialized Awol Comp with larger downtube. I had originally purchased the standard size, which did not fit, and returned that version with no issues and purchased the larger model. Works great!

I'd say this clamp is pretty decent and easy to install. I love how you can adjust the tension of the spring after installation using the injected nut and screw. However, this kit has a major flaw: the downtube clamp. This plastic piece that attaches the spring to the downtube is atrocious. The band is very stiff and inflexible near the body of it, so the entire band does not form a nice circular shape and therefore won't hold onto the downtube very well. I'm currently trying to DIY my own clamp, but it's tricky. If they could just redesign the clamp, this kit would be 5 stars.

However, this is supposed to work, it appears to work for some, but not for my bike. I installed it as detailed in the instructions and checked some of photos from other reviews to make sure the orientation was right. It looked good, but that's it. The spring is at the most tension when the front wheel is straight. Turning it to either side reduces the tension, so it seems to exacerbate the wheel flop, or at worst, do nothing.

It works but the spring is weak and the plastic band looks weak also, may not last very long. It’s a good idea but needs to be built stronger.Light duty

Simple installation keeps the bike from falling when the handlebars flop. Unnoticeable during the ride.if you have a two legged kick stand it's a must.
