I wondered if these would really work. They work very well. A brick hard bag of brown sugar was mostly usable by the next day. The second day it was all softened. Great product. Will purchase again and encourage others to try them.

Work well. You have to soak them for at least 20 minutes to get them fully wet. It maybe necessary to occasionally wash them if you place them in amongst to food as they can grow a little mold if sugary stuff gets on them. Just wash with soap and water and a small brush, rinse well and allow to dry.

These work great for keeping brown sugar from clumping up. Makes the brown sugar fresh again.

I bought a giant Costco bag of brown sugar and kept decanting into a smaller bin. The large bag wouldn't seal tightly so it kept drying out into chunks that wouldn't break down or pack into a measuring cup. When the small bin kept emptying out, I'd have to chip away at the giant chunks of brown sugar to make it fit. Finally I picked up these sugar savers. I soaked them in water for an hour, blotted them dry, put one in the bin and one in the bag, and came back a few hours later. The sugar was perfectly softened in both containers!Note: The one I put in the larger bag may have been a bit wetter, as the sugar around the terra cotta was considerably more damp than the rest of the bag. That sugar was still usable. I've heard of wet sugar going moldy, so I'd use this wetter sugar first. That, and maybe let the terra cotta sit on a towel for a minute before putting in the brown sugar.

Arrived quickly. Exactly as described. Using these to keep dog treats from drying out. Work perfectly.

After I soaked the brown sugar savers, they smelled strongly of mold or something. Soaked them in warm water and baking soda, made no difference. Let them dry thoroughly, still the strong odor. I'm not a "USA-made only" person, but I ended up throwing them away and now I'm in search of some terra cotta savers sourced and made in the USA.
