I added a carbon folder to my dust collector to make a fume extractor. I needed a carbon filter with a 10" inlet to have enough surface area for the amount of airflow my dust collector pulls through a 6" pipe, so I got this adapter. I was actually shocked that it fit so perfectly, because there are so many ways of making ducts. My spiral ductwork is slightly larger than the smooth duct and on top of that the carbon filter didn't measure exactly 10", but this fitting literally snapped snuggly and firmly into both the pipe and the filter! I could not be happier with the fit of this. Besides the excellent fit, it has positive stops so it's easy to keep things square, just push it all the way until it can't go on any further. This system is really working well and I'm really happy with how this fitting worked.

The 3 inch side didn't fit but I was able to trim some the metal away and since it's tapered, I was able to make this work. In short oder, I made it fit. I will just have to duct tape the hose to secure it.

Solid item, I needed a connection for a pellet stove fresh air intake, reducing from a 4 inch stainless steel flex pipe in the chimney to a 3 inch semi ridged aluminum flex pipe feeding the stove, both flex pipes fit nicely over their respective connections, used worm clamps to secure

Attempting to connect 3" vent pipe from new tankless water heater to existing 5" exaust vent, and this item doesn't fit either of the existing ventilation pipes. Arrived fast and quality is good, but it won't fit.
