These are slip on pants (think toddler pants). No 14 year old wants to show up at school wearing toddler pants. They fit my kid in thr waist but we're too long.

These fit more or less as expected but they're quite long. Either long or narrow depending on how you size them. The overall quality is pretty good and my kid that normally hates jeans doesn't hate these, so that's a plus.
