I was interested in a simple ladder rack that was easy to install/remove and did not require any drilling into my truck. This ladder rack ticked all the boxes. Coming in just over $100, I feel I got a great product that supersedes my expectations. It came packaged very carefully and tidy. All the necessary parts were there, and the nuts and bolts were bagged nicely. The rack was super easy to install. No drilling required, the j-bolts hold securely to the side of the truck bed. The rack adjusts to fit many different dimensions so I had no problem assembling it on my Dodge Ram. I am impressed how secure each leg of the rack is. I can’t do too many, but I can do a few pull-ups on the crossbar and it feels secure. I can travel down the highway and nothing moves. The ladders ride great on top, and the rack comes with a few tie-down areas. I wouldn’t hesitate putting kayaks, canoe, paddle boards, lumber, or a host of other items up there. If you’re looking for a simple rack that is easy to install and remove, performs well, and looks nice, this is a good choice.

I purchased this in order to mount my solar panels on the back of my truck, and it is working wonderfully. It is a very study build, and was easy to install, though the wrench provided wasn't great, it does come with one. I used my own tools however and got it installed in less than a half hour. The diameter of the cross member section, is a little wider than 2 inches except in the center, so if you plan on buying u-joints, make sure you get a 2 1/2" for clearance.

This item is easy to assemble, sturdy, and the fit and finish is very good. Considering this rack is about 1/2 the price of some competing adjustable height racks, this is a great buy. The packaging was well thought out and the components were well insulated from rubbing - and double boxed for protection. When assembling a generously tolerance item, such as this, one must remember to leave mating attachments loose until all related components are lined up and all threaded fasteners started into the proper mating component, bracket, etc. before final tightening. Otherwise, alignments can seem astray and give false impressions. People with basic assembly experience will have no trouble ...and there are some good assembly videos out there to help those less mechanically inclined.

Installed on my Toyota Tundra. I like the adjustable height. I use mine to haul kayaks and misc. long material. The only downside that I have is the assembly directions are not very user friendly.

Worked out perfect on my 2nd gen Toyota tundra. No wobbles. 55 lb kayak did not slide or sway in free way speeds. Feels really sturdy.

Ordered this and the first order got lost...believe that was the shipping company's issue. New one arrived promptly. First thing I noticed was that the cross bars come in two pieces and are joined mechanically by screws to a third joiner piece that fits inside the aluminum channel. This must be related to shipping costs, otherwise why cut the dang thing and make it more complicated and less structurally sound? Then I noticed the holes did not line up well at all. The instructions are not great. But I was able to fiddle with it and since the holes are bigger than the bolts there was enough play to get it eventually assembled. Then I noticed that the hold down clamps did not work for my Toyota Tacoma because of the presence of a rail attached to the side of the bed by Toyota. When I looked at the page again I did find a section that mentioned Toyota and another brand that the clamps would not work on. I found clamps specifically designed to clamp to the Toyota rail system and bought 8 for an extra $42. Amazon has warnings that often pop up if an item won't fit your vehicle...not sure why this happened. The warning on the site had to be found by scrolling horizontally way down the page. Not optimal, not sure why Amazon would be content to eat shipping fees from a situation like this. Came very close to sending it back.Assembled it is very rigid and should work well. I am not thrilled that there are so many disimilar metals in this assembly: AL frame, ss bolts, nickle plated joining plates and steel fasteners... can see some rust and corrosion in my future. I am going to invest in some more lock washers to ensure the bolts don't vibrate loose...the original were intended for the bed clamps and there weren't enough for all the joining fasteners for the cross rail. I won't call it junk...I will get at least a few years of useful life out of this system, but will need to check it frequently for mechanical soundness.

So I got these and they surpassed my expectations they are very sturdy easy to install I was able to use them with my toolbox and will work for my kayak ladders and all sorts of other accessories definitely worth the price. I had to use a little black spray paint on the bolts because there Chrome if you're going to use with a toolbox like mine you'll have to modify your toolbox by drilling a couple holes in it to accommodate the bolt from the racks. That's the hardest part about putting it together getting the toolbox and racks aligned properly if you don't have a toolbox easy peasy.

Purchased this for my two 12’ kayaks to go on my truck. We did a road trip with our travel trailer hitched up as well. The whole set up was very stable and the kayaks sat perfectly on the rack. If you take the time to secure the rack correctly it is completely stable and has proved to be an invaluable purchase.

I had a tough time finding something to fit my 2006 Nissan Frontier, and this was adjustable...for a great price, too. Under $200, and weight rated for 800lbs, that is hard to beat. I was willing to take a chance on it, and very glad that I did. It's pretty well made and has some weight to it. Assembly literally took less than 30 min right out of the box. I used a driver to tighten nuts, which popped one weld on the bar...OOPS!.. but it's still solid and secure. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Like a few others, I had canopy clamps that I added to the flat edge on the box frame, not because it wasn't already secure, but this made it rock solid. There was one sharp burr on one bar that had to be knocked off, so I'd say caution handling when unpackaging/assembling, you won't want to be sliced open... this is a simple thing to sand or hammer off, but need to be aware of. Overall, I'd say this was a great investment, and it both looks good, but is super solid, will be no problem carrying a few kayaks!!Edit... It's a few months later, bought this in February it's April now. This thing has paid for itself a dozen times over at least. Cannot say enough good things about this rack. Best investment I made all year so far.

Only 1/2 of the bolts actually line up. If you buy this, make sure you have a die grinder to put it together

So far great. We have not yet put the kayaks on, but it is sturdy. Pretty easy to install.
