I bought two sets of these hooks for string lights I was putting up on my pergola. The hooks arrived on time and undamaged in a plastic case that keeps everything fairly organized. The hooks were easy to install. Simply, take the protective film off the back to expose the adhesive and stick it onto the desired surface. Make sure to first wipe off the surface with alcohol to help the strenghen the adhesion. So far, the adhesion seems strong. Time will tell how well the hooks stay on in the Winter when the wind picks up. The Hooks are also perfectly sized to hold the wire snuggly. So far, these work perfectly and look good. One detail, be careful to not be too rough with them during the installation process since I had a few break. If you treat them gently, they seem to hold up.

The hooks are working nicely. The day I hung the lights, it rained that evening and quite a few of them fell off. So I’m not blaming the hooks but maybe they need stronger adhesive to withstand the weather.

Used to hang string lights under my covered porch. These worked great when using the screws that came with the package. The adhesive backing seems strong at first but the clips fell off the wall from the weight after a few days when I first tried them without the screws. Could be the heat in North Carolina but other reviews mentioned problems in cold weather with Xmas lights too. These are clear (when red backing is removed) so hardly noticeable.

Was replacing a different type of outdoor light I was hanging got my wife. These allowed the rope light to be flat but secure and you could put up with the screws provided or use the adhesive backing to stick up or both. Well made!

Love these hooks, so easy to put up and they stick really good. I applied to a wooden fence and they work great holding up my Christmas lights, I would highly recommend

Updated review. Downgraded my previous review to one star. These things do not work on a painted metal surface as in an outdoor lanai cage. Worthless. The double backed stick on tape is not of 3M quality and after one month, separated. Luckily, the cheap tape did not damage the paint and that says it all. Don't waste your money.I used these to hang a string of 48 ft. LED string lights with the heavier cord style. The hooks were too small for the cord. When attempting to insert the cord in the very first hook, it broke. From then on, I had to use extreme caution when trying to insert the rest of the cord into the remaining hooks so they would not break. Took forever. For the lights I used, these hooks are NOT the ones to use.

I’ll use these for something else. The clips don’t open enough for the wire gauge that my Feit light string is made of.
