I bought these sandals before a three week sailing adventure through the Bahamas, back to the States and up the Intercoastal Waterway. They were comfortable from the get go with no need to break them in. We walked several miles a day on roads, trails and beaches and I never had a comfort issue with them. The photo in this review is of the sandals after my trip. The cloth straps are great - just enough give to flex with my foot without sacrificing support or stability.I tried on the two top name brand hiking sandals (plus a few other brands) and found these to be the most comfortable and affordable. One caveat: if you plan to do a lot of walking IN water on uneven surfaces, such as walking through a rocky stream where they will be soaking wet, these may not be the shoes for you. They get a little more stretchy when soaked and your feet may slide a little in them. But they do tighten back up when they dry, so no harm done if they do get soaked :) - which they did several times.I highly recommend these sandals!!

I purchased the Samara (this one), Napali, and Acadia sandals, all by Viakix. Not only was this the cutest one, it was the most comfy. As one of the reviewers mentioned, the Napali and Acadia sandals have straps that are more stiff and rough that feel more secure on the foot, but will also cause some blisters, at least during breaking in. The Samara has softer straps and and easy pull adjusts the tension. The sole is thick and there's some arch support, although I could use more. The Napali and Acadia seem to have slightly sturdier soles, but not enough to concern me. Also, one of them seemed to jut out a bit on the bottom of the sole on either side of the ball of the foot, which made it feel weird (sorry, can't remember which one). I also don't love that this cost $53...seemed overpriced. I'm ordering a pair of Chacos to compare--if it has more arch support, I'll return these, otherwise this is it!

I ordered these sandals because I was looking for a replacement and alternative to Tevas. What I love about them is that they are made in USA; the straps over the foot are narrow, soft, and pretty; and the Velcro ankle strap is also narrow and comfortable. The foot bed gives excellent support for my bunion that is becoming increasingly unstable and also has good arch, heel, and ball of the foot support. The foot bed isn't too hard, though, it's comfortable. The pad at the back of the heel is also very comfortable. The sole has good grip and I think they will be great for kayaking and walking around on slippery rocks or riversides. But they are good looking enough for wearing shopping or out to restaurants (back in the days when we went to restaurants). These sandals probably wouldn't work for someone with a very wide or thick foot, but it says that right in the online ordering information. I have a narrow foot and was grateful to find these sandals that aren't too sloppy.

I ordered this shoe in hopes of being able to hike around rock and water areas in Austin, Texas. I needed some thing that was usable in the water as well as sturdy with good traction. They are comfortable except for where the straps around the toes rub one of my toes a bit. They also look cute with shorts, jeans and little dresses that are very casual. My main issue is that you cannot use these for any kind of hiking at all. The straps are way too stretchy, and if you put your foot wrong on a rock or getting into the water, or some you will twist or sprain your ankle because as you sit your foot down at an angle, the stretching us about your foot to come right out of the sandal, sometimes in a jarring manner.I am going to use them for when it is a bit rainy out, but I can stay on the sidewalks with my dog.I ended up having to order more expensive brand in order to get what I needed. I guess you get what you pay for.

If you are looking for a comfortable, stylish walking sandal that doesn’t need to be broken in then look no further. I did a ton of research prior to purchasing these sandals. They are easy to put on and take off. I walked all over Europe averaging 20K steps a day and never got any so much as a hot spot. I plan to buy a few more pairs in different colors.

I had these for about 6 months, barely wore them and the strap broke recently. They are very comfortable but poorly made. I have tried contacting the seller about a refund but no response. Super disappointed. I bought Columbia sport sandals and they are way better.

stylist and comfortable for the 30 minutes I've worn them. Will be a better judge during Spring vacation.
