Sadly I wanted to buy American made and got these clamps. Soon as I was tightening them down the cheap flimsy metal ripped out of the area where the bolts go through and rendered the clamp junk.

Ideally you're using this on pipes that slip into each other and without any slots. However they also work great for equal-diameter pipes that butt into each other. I needed no sealing material whatsoever, the exhaust is completely leak free after using these clamps. Additionally, the tightening bolts are easily accessible from the bottom of the car while the clamp removes no ground clearance whatsoever. Really the best way to put together an exhaust.
