Great simplicity, nice, thin, sharp, one SAK that you should get. Good Alox handles, good retention when open or closed. Easy steel to sharpen with a small ceramic. It cuts and gets really sharp. Nail nick opening not as efficient but not too difficult once broken in.

There's not a whole lot to say. Victorinox is one of the best slip joint knife makers in existence. I've carried one or another Victorinox for 30+ years since I was a Boy Scout and have had no complaints. They're attractive, sharp, sturdy, and hold a really good edge for a really long time. In my mind, Victorinox is the standard to which I compare other slip joints. This knife measures up. It's what you'd expect from Victorinox.

I received the knife on time and in good condition. As a long time Swiss Army knife owner I can vouch for it as being very well made. I purchased it as a gift to a friend...

I have collected very expensive pocket knives over the years . I realize now that I wasted my money on those.I found out that so called CPM steel in my other knives is a gimick name for sintered steel which can be rapidly stamped out / mass produced thereby avoiding a lot of the costly grinding. The bottom line here is that this knife stays sharp as long or longer than my expensive CPM steel knives. The blade is longer and thicker than the standard multi-tool Swiss Army knives . Light as a feather . The aluminium alloy handles are stronger than they ever need to be for a knife . I own other heavy and over built pocket knives. I realize now that if you try to make a knife that is also a crowbar you end up with a lousy knife and a lousy crowbar . This is a superb slipjoint daily carry. You won’t find anything better.

A great size for larger hands. Fit and finish is nearly perfect. Razor sharp. Solid snap on open and close. Zero blade play when open. Nearly disappears in pocket. Perfect for a fifth. Very affordable. I'll be buying more of these as gifts and maybe a few more for myself to scatter around the house and vehicle.Victorinox - Please bring back the Swiss Army 2 with the mini hawkbill.

There are plenty of good reviews here. I’ll focus mine on the single stack SAK 1 model here, vs the 2-3 stack models. I’ve owned the 2&3 stack. This is my first single. Big fan of Alox SAK line. I like this knife a lot.I’ll start by saying I like the 2 layer electrician best, but I lost it. Ive been carrying a 3 layer Pioneer X which is a fantastic multi tool. This is the larger knife in the pictures. It feels like a brick in your pocket compared to the single layer. The beauty of this knife is that it disappears in you pocket. It’s worth buying just for that. It also will not freak out someone who does not carry a knife because it’s hardly tactical and kinda “prettyâ€.You can’t feel it at all. It’s really (almost too) thin. To me the 2 layer feels best in hand for use. This single layer is for light duty cutting. It does not have a grip to press hard. I used to put out (a lot) of pine straw and it did an excellent job. Easy to see silver color when you leave it open in the next bale. Maybe I won’t loose it. Easy to clean with one blade (simple is good)My only gripe. It’s a SAK. It has one tool, duh it’s supposed to. There is a spot for a second tool on the opposite side of the blade . This defeats the “solo†idea, but why not make a model with an opener or a punch, or scissors on the opposite side??? I’d buy that one. The punch is perfect for opening boxes. This model has a unique curved spring. The blade also seems unique in that it’s straight, not beveled. Adding a second tool means you use existing SAK parts. Put liners on it fatten it up a bit. It would feel better and weigh nothing. Build one with a short blade and scissors and call it the TSA. It would sell to travelers. This is a nice looking knife with the curved spring. It’s an awesome value and a practical, easy to carry tool. Get one and support our Swiss friends. Pioneer X is going in a bag.
