I bought this to use as a treasure chest in my classroom. I had a junky cardboard one, but I never liked the way it looked and it got so beat up from use. This should last a long time, even with little hands digging around in it for a prize they earned. I wanted to make it look a little more "pirate-y" so I bought for the front of it. Wow, that sticker makes it look very cool and the kids are really interested in "the prize box" now. I didn't use the adhesive on the sticker, since I didn't want to mar the beautiful chest in case I didn't like the metal sticker, instead I just used that sticky-tac putty to adhere it. It has been on for months now and hasn't budged...and is completely removable without weird adhesive being stuck.The latch and the handles are actually metal on this and the box holds a lot of small items. The lid is hollow, so you can even mound up stuff inside and it still closes easily. It looks really expensive (especially compared to cheap cardboard) so I don't mind it sitting out on a shelf in my class. My philosophy is that I feel that my class shouldn't be filled with junky stuff. My home environment isn't filled with cardboard boxes out in the open, and I have enough respect for children that I feel that their classroom environment should look nice, too. I have actual lamps and will put their artwork in actual frames. Even if they are inexpensive frames, it is different than scotch tape on the walls. They deserve to be surrounded by a nice, orderly environment too, since they spend so much time there.Anyway (I know I am off topic here!) the box is great. When it came I sort of wanted to keep it for my house to keep near the closet for things like gloves, scarves, etc. It isn't lined with anything (just wood) so if you plan on putting something very delicate inside it (like silky things or something) you may want to glue in some felt lining or something (which would be very simple to do since it is square.) I thought it would also be nice in our family room for all the crap we seem to accumulate there like cords, remotes we don't use that often, pens, matches for candles, extra coasters, etc. So many boxes like this are so small, you can hardly fit anything in them. This is especially nice that it holds bigger things. You could even use it to hold a few pairs of slippers or something in your entryway. Even a thin blanket could fit (though not a big fluffy one) if you like having one in your living room, and don't know where to put it when you aren't using it. You could really put anything in it and have easy access to smaller items, but still have everything "put away" so it is less cluttered. When I retire, this is one of the few items I am bringing home with me! until then, I may just get another one for home! :D

I'm using this chest for a convention booth display and it was perfect for my needs. The wood construction does feel a little thin in spots and I would recommend it definitely as a keepsake holder or decorative piece rather than something that might get banged around a lot. The hinged lid holds the rounded top from hanging loose off the back and was perfect for adding to the decorative look I was going for. For the cost and classic fantasy look I was wanting, this model was perfect for me.

I purchased this to stow all kinds of misc. stuff that ended up stacked or scattered in my den on my coffee table. It completely allowed me to organize and hide things like controls etc. Just perfect. It is very attractive a bit larger than I thought it would be but perfect for all my odds and ends.

I bought this as a storage container for my closet. It has great capacity and looks very nice - like it is made of real leather with a substantial wood trim. I am very happy especially for how much it cost. I wish the wood was a little thicker and the construction a little sturdier. I would pay a little extra for that. But overall, I recommend this chest if it is going to be stationary and not opened every day. If you need something that will be moved around or frequently opened, this may not be solid enough.

I’m in love with this chest. Very sturdy. Great price. I purchase this together with my other two sisters to mail out to another sister with items inside. We loved it and is exactly how it looks on the picture.

This box, which I love the look, arrived damaged. I contacted the company QuickWay Imports. They refused to replace their item. Paying over $60 for a box is not important to this company other that getting their money. Absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Buyers be ware !!! Very disappointed!!!

Received the chest yesterday, for the price and durability plus looks it fills the bill perfectlyIt perfectly fits pieces of paper sideways flush to the back when shut and currently stores all of our DnD dice maps and supplies.BE AWARE, this is not the fault of the product company but Amazon, they pressed in the front resulting in the chest not being able to open. Some easy pliers fixed this and the metal for the latch is not easily bent by hand and should last the lifetime.Again no fault on the product company just amazon for not using a large enough box.

Arrived with a damaged front latch like alot of other reviewers have noted, but I was able to bend it back into shape with a pair of pliers. The leather stitching is coming out in a couple places, and one side had a defect in the wood stain so. The interior is only lined with a cheap thin fabric / paper that I don't think will hold up over time.Good for a kids toy or as slightly more interesting storage / transport for your game stuff than a plastic rubbermaid tote. Don't put it in your living room and try and pass it off as a 'vintage' anything. Or even a reproduction.

Rustic, vintage and beautiful. Exactly what I needed, has been on many training sessions around Yorkshire with me without damage. Although I would recommend taking it many travels. It is thin wood not made for much hammer, buy if you are after a decorative item.
