Excellent product and very well designed. Product must had been redesigned and no screws just plan flush mounted bolts. Love the expandable base to add more LPs to the bin

First of all: THERE IS A WAY TO STOP THE TWO SIDES FROM SLIDING APART. Since people keep stating that you can't do so in their reviews. The listing shows the tab in question that if you press it back, it stops the two sides sliding apart. No, it is not mentioned on the instructions, but I assumed that tab had a purpose so I rechecked the listing.Secondly: IF YOU PUT IT TOGETHER PROPERLY, NO BOLT PROTRUSIONS. This poor thing has some poor reviews because people did not build the thing correctly. The lip of the shelves should be at the bottom of the holder. Now that out of my system... This is fine for the price. Easy to put together and looks nice. I'm sure you could use it for things other than records if you really wanted to. I cannot yet comment on the divider, but I'm sure it is fine, if it isn't, a bookend would work too. I just needed something easy to pop records in and was technically portable if needed, which this is.So, please, ignore the reviews that say you can't stop it coming apart and build it correctly and it will be just fine!

I didn't read the other reviews before assembling this. I though I surely must have made a mistake? Nope. Not to be redundant, but as others have already pointed out, 1. The screws for the side pieces, no matter how you mount them (nut on the outside, nut on the inside), you're going to have a protrusion that is going to dent your album covers. Not cool. 2. There's nothing to stop the expansion from expanding into 2 separate pieces. Not ideal. 3. The magnetic album divider seems OK when the rack is empty, but it's no match for the weight of a stack of albums leaning against it...on one side anyway. If you just use it as more of a separator, with albums on both side, it's more effective, but there's really no point in that when you think about it.Really wanted to like this one, but it's a fail overall - out of the box anyway. if you can somehow pad/obscure the bolts from damaging your album covers (would be easier by putting the nut on the outside, as the screw top has a lower profile), lose the magnetic thing in favor of either no divider, or flat alphabetic dividers, and choose a desired width, and maybe drill some holes in the sliding frame, and insert screws and nuts (sold separately, or found in your junk drawer), then it might at least be usable (and I may try all of those things). Out of the box, it's a no go for people serious about their vinyl, but with some modifications, it could be salvaged. It does look super cool, so 3 stars for effort.

A bit flimsy in design and records slide a lot on the base as it’s slicker metal.Eventually I’ll be looking for something else but it’s functional for the time being.
