- Do not heat rivets in hot water. Insert the rivets to straps AFTER you pick up straps from the boiling water.

- Heat the vinyl straps in boiling water for 3~5 minutes prior to use.
- Wear thick waterproof gloves and protective goggles to handle.
- Once the strap is removed from the water it cools quickly and become stiff and difficult to stretch into place, so bring the pot to your work area to limit he time the straps get cool.
- Do not use the heat gun to soften the vinyl strap as it may melt the vinyl if it sit too long in any one part of the strap.
- When pulling vinyl in place, stretch it well beyond the rail to give enough slack to attach the rivet. It will tighten as it cools. Use baby powder on straps if your have problem with strap sticking.

These straps are much thicker than the straps on most furniture. They will bend less and last much longer. I have purchased multiple rolls in different colors to replace webbing on my lawn chairs and have been more than satisfied. The included fasteners are helpful when you break the existing fasteners holding in the old straps.

The strap material is twice as heavy and strong as the broken straps. I wasted the first 10’ box, however, following the installation instructions. Do as another reviewer recommended - measure between the holes and simply subtract 2â€.

I didn't check the width of the banding I needed. What I ordered is too wide.

When following the directions pretty simple, just needed additional strength on pulling it. Otherwise it was easy and simple. The only problem I faced was the holes, was no big enough for the pins to go in so we had to widen them enough for them to go in and stay in.
Gee, this product is great, must try it.

My old patio chairs had broken straps and we were about to donate them to the dump when I found this strap kit... the only issue I had was the fasteners; I agree that they should have a tight fit, but they are quite large and take way too much effort to press in. I tried to press them in with my thumb (according to the instructions), but when that didn't work, I resorted to a soft hammer, which promptly bent / weakened the plastic fasteners.... next time, I will enlarge the holes a little so that the fasteners will fit snugly instead of impossible.There is about enough material to replace the bottoms of two regular sized chairs.Aside from that, very satisfied with the product.

It's more than a 2 inches and it's a lot thicker as you can see on the picture
