I'm no expert in bowed instruments, but after dabbling with violin and erhu for a couple years, it's wonderful to finally have a proper way to protect the bows in storage and for travel. This case does what it's meant to perfectly, and without overcomplicating anything. The case feels like plywood, like most cases - it's rigid with virtually no bending, and should hold up plenty well to most abuse. The lid and body lock together neatly in place and line up exactly right. The latches don't feel especially tight, but I couldn't get it to accidentally open even when deliberately wiggling and jostling it, so it should be secure in all but the most extreme circumstances. One bow I had fit very comfortably in the case, while another also fit but quite snugly - just being a fraction of an inch longer means the screw pushes up against the foam on the edge, rather than loosely resting in its slot. Both seem well protected to me, but one or the other may not be acceptable for a particularly expensive bow.A simple 1 bow case might be a slightly smaller and lighter alternative if you're only looking for maximum practicality while only ever planning on carrying one or two bows with you at a time. However, this is really only marginally larger and can likely hold all the bows most musicians own at once. All told, this is really a very nice case, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone at the student or hobbyist level. It's very durable, feels nicely made, and looks wonderful.
