We have been craving French fries, onion rings, deep-fried eggplant, and even fish, for fish fries. Finding this pot, which is an excellent size for cooking all of the food I identified, plus a lot more. Besides the pan being incredibly useful, it looks beautiful. The aluminum pot looks shiny and new. The weight of the pan is is perfect for what we are using it for.We particularly crave these foods when we are camping. We have a huge camp cook out area that all of the pots, pans, and likewise gather. And since there are so many of us, that get together, having a main cook area is ideal. I mention this because it is so awesome to have everyone in our group so happy that we can have French fries with our gourmet hamburgers. All we need do is add the oil that we will cook in, heart healthy oils.We were given the measurements when we purchased this pot, but it really hits you when you receive it. It’s an incredibly versatile size for making our fried foods. Plus, we prefer to make our own fried foods so that we control the oil that we use. This pot is awesome. Add oil, heat until desired temperature, add pre-cut potatoes, and with the aide of an oil thermometer, cook until desired results. Let cool, and we have the best tasting French fries that we can have.We need to be careful using this aluminum pan over heat unless the pot has liquid inside. Otherwise we could melt down our own aluminum pan! Not what we would ever intend. Other than watching that we have liquid in the pan before cooking, we are 100% ready to fry our own foods. After use, and cool down, we strain the oil through an oil strainer into a covered pot until next time. Then we can clean the pot the same way as we would any top end pan, with hot soapy water and a dishcloth. Then dry as usual. Very easy. Fish and chips anyone?

I wanted to love it but sadly it’s just not good. I bought it specifically to fry food in and it’s horrible. I have a glass top cooktop and the pan always shakes when I’m heating oil. When I tried to make French fries the potatoes stuck to bottom of pot. Not worth the money or hassle.

The pan is on the thinner side. Will probably invest into something if better quality.

I fried a ton of crappies up with this pan! And loved it. It gets hot super fast but use a temp gauge to keep the temp right. It’s very large in size so I was able to fry a good amount at a time. I even fried extra large shrimp dipped in Panco breading and it was awesome

Great deep fryer. Met all my expectations. Very easy to assemble handle for basket. Easy to clean. Only downfall is the basket can get to heavy to clip to the pot.

The first deep fryer I received from VIVOHOME had a contaminated lid – some kind of chemical was on the top side of the lid (see pics) – I was able to wash some of it off but there were rust spots and stains from the contamination. I decided to hold off doing a review until I received a replacement. The lid on the 2nd unit was also contaminated with some kind of chemical but to a lessor extent. I was able to wash off the 2nd lid with soap and hot water. However, after drying, I discovered a long scrape on the inner surface (cosmetic but reflective of manufacturing issues). See pics of the 1st and 2nd set. It was obvious that both sets were as originally packed by the manufacturer – not returned items reshipped. The nature of the contamination chemicals is of concern. I decided to keep the second set.I am dropping 3 star points for the handle issue (below) but mostly for the mysterious contamination of the lid as it appears that my first shipment was not a fluke.Some assembly required – the handle needs to be attached. The handle has a silicone covering but I recommend using a potholder or oven mitt – the silicone and handle are barely adequate because they do not give the complete control and heat protection for the hand needed for a basket which can hold so much food and was resting in very hot oil or water. The 6.7-quart basket and 10-quart pot are great for deep frying just about anything – my favorites are fries, chicken, fish and shrimp and I will be testing the unit further with each. My wife likes to make beef stew for the family, and she will test that. It also includes a gauge with a pot clip to monitor temperature and an Instruction Manual.While stainless steel is corrosion resistant, it is NOT rust proof. We always hand wash stainless steel and dry immediately. There is a strong warning to NOT allow the pot to sit on flames (stove) without fluid inside – could melt.
