Ordered this a few days before the 2024 Solar Eclipse. This was the only solar filter that would arrive in time. It was too big for my lens, but I sat it on top and it worked fine. The only issue I had was the wind knocking it off constantly, but it survived all of the tumbles without a knick. I would probably make a 3D printed spacer next time to fit it on the camera better, but other than that it worked great. Would definitely reccomend.

This is the second Vixen Daystar solar filter purchased in the past 2 months with manufacturing defects. The first was obviously defective without the opening the clear wrapper ... grossly misaligned filter aperture. It was returned for a refund. The defects with this one wasn't apparent until trying to assemble the cardboard interlocking petals ... they were cut incorrectly and would not fit together when following the instructions. While trying to wiggle them into place, the cheap cardboard delaminated, ripping the filter material. Too late to return it.Get the "Celestron EclipSmart Safe Solar Eclipse Telescope and Camera Filter". It doesn't look as cool, but it doesn't have the assembly complications.

It worked. I got great eclipse photos through hazy skies. (At lower exposures, the haze in my photo went away, so don't ding the filter for that.)The carboard was hard to fold without bending the filter material or tearing the tabs. I reinforced it by wrapping duct tape around the outside once it was together. You're getting what you pay for here, but it's far cheaper than filters of solid construction and get's the job done.

This lens cover worked perfectly with my sigma 150-600mm lens. It even arrived a week early. Had no problems putting it together and adding it to my camera lens. I do live in Texas so it can be windy, that being said I added a few pieces of scotch tape to make sure it didn’t go anywhere. I probably didn’t have to do that but I wanted to ready for anything.Much better and cheaper alternative to spending a hundred dollars or more on a screw on lens cover just for one use.

Optical quality was not there for me. It's still good to use and I recommend it, but not for pros.

Shot pretty good pictures of the eclipse with it. It’s easy to assemble and use.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7. It does not fit this camera if assembled as indicated. I ended up stapling the carboard pieces together so that it would slip over the lens. I tried it out today, and I think it will work. I won't know for sure until Monday when I try to use it for the eclipse. Be careful if you try to staple or tape this to fit you camera lens. It is a very fragile piece. The price was way too high for a piece of mylar glued to cardboard, but the regular lens are way too expensive for a one-time use.
