I love using candles in my decor, especially around Christmastime. But it can sometimes be tricky to arrange my candles amid the greenery in such a way that I don't have to worry about them being a fire hazard. The obvious solution was to get a few hurricanes, and I'm very glad I found this set.[If you're not familiar with this use of the term "hurricane," it comes from the days when candles and lamps were the only available light sources and people needed a way to protect the flames from going out or catching on something they shouldn't, especially when there was a bad storm. Now we use hurricanes to dramatically reduce the fire hazard when we use real candles, but you can also fill one with a string of small Christmas lights to hold them in a more vertical shape.]The glass of the hurricanes is borosilicate glass, which is less likely to break than regular glass and has more shine to it (like lead crystal). This makes it pretty even when there isn't a lit candle inside it. It's wide enough to stand sturdily on its own. The candlesticks have a nice shape, also appear to be of borosilicate glass, and fit nicely inside the hurricanes. They're sturdy, even if flipped upside down, so they can be used to give added height to any pillar candles that fit inside the hurricanes.I don't normally mention the packing material, but this packing material is worth keeping for any time I need to pack these items away. The box is sturdy enough to be used for shipping books, and two layers of styrofoam are cut to perfectly fit both the box and the items in it. Another piece of styrofoam protects them from the top. It would take a lot of force to damage the hurricanes or candlesticks through the box and foam.

With beautiful tapers paced in the holders, and the Hurricane glass placed over the tapers, and glass holders, they create a beautiful chimney that is perfect for weddings, birthday parties, or even a centerpiece for our dining room table.The price is fair considering that these are gorgeous glass cylindrical shaped candle holders that enhance the beauty of your home, or wherever you place them. I love the fact that we can place these outside since they are covered enough that the wind will not blow the candles out. And with having 6 of these, I can place them wherever I would like. The weight of the glass will hold the Hurricanes together so that there isn’t any breakage. They are incredibly easy to assemble and to enjoy over and over again.I have never seen anything like this before and I doubt that I will again. I can’t wait to have family over for dinner so that they can enjoy these beautiful Hurricanes with us. The price is perfect considering how original these pieces are.

I got these for my wedding exactly as the title says and I've actually kept them and still use them in my holiday decorations! They have a simple elegance about them Idk what it is but I loved them in my table centerpieces. We decorated them with fairy lights (also off amazon) and fake magnolia petals. They were super easy for clean up with being bottomless just lift it up and the contents fall out lol.

I get nervous ordering glass items for fear of breakage even though it rarely happens. That said, I was so impressed with the packing job for these hurricane candle holders. This is 1 box and packing that I'll be using for storing the ones that are not in use.These are made of borosilicate glass which is lighter and stronger than regular glass. They look very elegant and protect the candle flame from breezes or a taper falling over. The small candle holder will hold a taper or flip it over as a base for a narrow pillar candle.Only disappointment was that the pictures showed small votive holders, but these are not included in this set. Not a huge deal breaker but a bit disappointing as they would have made this a complete set for any occasion.

Tall enough to burn tall 12†inch tapers but these cylinders are pretty useless without the candlestick holders. Even with the holders, I’m unclear how these stay sturdily upright. Glass is thin and can easily be tipped over and break. These cylinders seem unnecessarily separated from the holders.It’s my fault for trusting the pic, which included what looked like a base or I’m guessing candlestick holders? Not sure when I’ll get around to purchasing the right sized holders. The glass is too thin to really be used for anything else. It feels a bit like I ordered carrots but only got the carrot tops.The good news is these came nicely packed in sturdy styrofoam that kept the delicate cylinders intact.

These came packaged really well in foam, the candle bases on one side, the covers on the other. Total of 6 of each. They work really well to keep a candle upright if there's a breeze or a draft (sometimes that will cause taper candles to burn unevenly, drip, and eventually break off prematurely). They fit most standard candles. The glass is very thin and delicate but it looks gorgeous. Great value, these will look great at the dinner table, on my mantle, or just around the house. I love burning candles, and taper candles specifically look so elegant, so these will definitely be utilized.
