My kids snagged their hamper on the original washer door latch while doing their laundry. I know I shouldn't complain, they were doing laundry! Anyway, the latch itself is so flimsy, I was annoyed that things like that are made so cheaply and break so easily. I was worried that it would be an expensive repair, called Costco (where we purchased our washer), and they said it wasn't covered under warranty. I was bracing myself for an expensive out-of-pocket repair, being out of a washer for days, and hours lost taking apart the washer lid to replace it. BUT!... Thankfully, I happened upon this replacement part, and even more thankfully it was an easy repair! You just twist the old latch counter clockwise to remove, then place this one in and turn clockwise to tighten! Is this little piece of plastic worth the price I paid for it? Absolutely not, I'm sure it only cost pennies to manufacture. However, it made my washer work again (it won't do anything unless it senses the door is closed by this latch)! So.... Woohoo!

I have bought two of these now. Both would not work until I filed part of it off. A small nub that would not let it twist on. If all angles were pictured you could compare your broken one to the one your purchasing.
