Received it but, was not in any packaging. The one end was bent slightly and struggled a bit to get it to fit into other existing pipe. After cutting about 3/4" off end it fit. I believe it could have happened during shipping but, needs some sort of packaging to prevent it from happening to others. Or at least put something on ends to protect it.

I bought this to replace the original resonator on my 2005 Dakota Club cab V6. I was worried I would have difficulty mating it to the existing pipes due to the large amount of rust on the old pipe i was leaving on the truck. After removing the old unit, I used some 220 grit sand paper to clean up the mating point on the old pipe still attached to the truck and sprayed a small amount of WD40 to assist in connecting the two.I used a couple of generic exhaust clamps from the local auto parts store and this resonator mounted right in and matched the hanger points exactly. I was able to assemble this and a new muffler by myself in less than 30 minutes. I started the truck with just the resonator on to check for leaks and was surprised at how quiet it was without the rest of the exahust. I finished installing the muffler and rear resonator and have not had any issue with leaks etc (installed 2 months ago).

I liked the fact that the resonator fit didn’t have to straight the pipe ends to it would fit.

Perfect fitting direct replacement. I had the unit swapped out ( rusted original ) in a matter of an hour or so. Once I cut the old one out with a sawzall, then wrestled the cut end out of the muffler, it slid right into place ( with some pushin and shovin) and clamped up tight.... Done! Truck is quiet as ever.
