This E string really does sound warmer. I changed out an Evah Pirrazah E and this string blends even better with the others. It feels weird when you first go to string it, but as it stretches its character comes out.

This string is great! It full eliminates any E whistling, and still has a good tone and projects well.

Very light gauge. Nice, dark sound. The A string sounds weird for a few days, but then settles down nicely.

As usual, Amber E always giving me a wonderfully bright resonant sound.

As another reviewer said, buy on Southwest Strings website! About 1/2 the price of what you see here. I regret not checking there first! Free shipping too! This is a weird e-string. The bridge end of the string is not straight, it is a helix. Look up "Warchal Helix" to get an idea of what I mean. When you tighten the string the helix almost disappears but is still noticeable. Gets rid of whistling but playing very high position, the sound degrades A LOT. It's a trade-off I guess - requires a different bowing technique to counteract the helix.

I have gotten quite a few compliments about my amber E string. I thought they were talking about my underwear but I wasn’t wearing any I guess they were talking about my violin

The string does not squeak, but it sounds tinny. No doubt about it. For reference, I have an older violin (made in the 1800s). For very fast fiddling, this string was adequate. For really intricate, E-string-intensive classical pieces that require much more careful bowing, this falls short for me because the QUALITY of sound lacks depth. I have no issues with Warchal. I actually LOVE Warchal & have a lot of experience with ALL of their different string products. I have used Warchal Brilliant strings in the past. I currently use the Warchal Brilliant Vintage for my D & G strings, as well as the Warchal A Russian for my A string. They sound fantastic. I expected more from this Amber E.OH & last but not least, Southwest Strings sells these strings for practically half the cost, & they will get the strings to you in relatively the same amount of time as Amazon Prime would. So not only will I not buy this string from this seller again, I won't be buying anything from this seller. I buy a lot from this site & I never give return business to any seller who lends me to regret my purchase due to having paid way too much.
