With today's focus shifting back to family and home, new and experienced sewers are choosing simple, practical projects for use in their homes and as gifts. Pot holders, oven mitts and casserole covers are all ideal projects made functional and safe with Insul-Bright. It consists of polyester fibers, needle-punched through a reflective metalized polyester film. The needled material is breathable and won't break down with washing. The polyester fibers resist conduction while the reflective metalized polyester film reflects radiant energy, hot or cold, back to its source. Insul-Bright is not recommended for microwave use. Insul-Bright can be used in clothing but is a little noisy as the film crinkles when moved. This stuff is great to use when making casserole carriers, hot pads, oven mitts, and anything you need insulated. It’s easy to cut with regular scissors and not too heavy.

I use this lining in sewing my fancy potholders that are pieced like small quilt blocks. It sews as easily as any of the other layers and adds important protection from heat.

Must say, wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. but wow. its easy to cut, use in Hot Pads Casserole Pads ect. I "sew" enjoyed using it I bought another package of 2.

I use these to make my every day potholders. Just don't sew into the seam as that makes it hard to use.

It crackles when you move it. It’s essentially batting with Mylar sandwiched between it. So anything you make with it will crackle when used. It’s effective but annoying to me. I’m weird about stuff like that I guess. Pot holder should not make sound. 😂

Excellent product for making oven gloves,tea cosies,pot holders and ironing mats. I bought this to make a small table top ironing mat to use when making patchwork blocks, easy to use product and does the job.

I used this to make potholders. I use two layers in between the fabric layers. Works SO well. My hands never feel hot or burn using this product
