Your cart is empty. The M3 fighting knife or M3 trench knife was an American military combat knife first issued in March 1943. The M3 was originally designated for issue to soldiers not otherwise equipped with a bayonet. However, it was particularly designed for use by elite or 'shock' forces in need of a close-combat knife such as airborne troops and Army Rangers, and these units received priority for the M3 at the start of production. As more M3 knives became available in 1943 and 1944, the knife was issued to other soldiers such as Army Air Corps crewmen and soldiers not otherwise equipped with a bayonet, including soldiers issued the M1 Carbine or submachine gun.

I have both, this and the Boker M3. Although the Steel is a higher quality on the Boker, this knife has a sturdier handle, and this knife also looks more like the authentic M3. The sheath looks to be made of cheap plastic, but hey what do you expect for $22...

This is my second one of these knives and besides needing to tighten one handle with more leather and conditioning the leather they are both well made. Keep in mind they have China on the tang. This can be easily removed with some sanding and touch up with Caswell stainless steel blackener. The m8 scabbards are garbage. Just get the leather drop leg replacement and you’ll have a good reproduction for the money. There are reproductions out there that are better but they are triple the cost of this. For a knock around actually descent knife this is it.

Overall the knife is good quality for the price, came with a false edge so takes some time to put a decent cutting edge on it.The scabbard is plastic and feels more brittle than the original type, but considering the cost that is not an issue. Only complaint is the wire hanger is significantly wider than it should be so it will not fit on authentic US pistol/ammo belts. Wire hanger on this is 8 CM wide, correct size is 6 CM. I happened to have a spare wire hanger on hand and it was simple to swap it out, but most buyers may not have this available. An alternative would be if you can find an old surplus scabbard for an M3 or an M7 bayonet as the knife will fit in both (I have a surplus M7 bayonet so was able to confirm this)

This, for the price is a great bargain for anyone looking to up their kit for reenacting or living history. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with straps to secure it to the leg as paratroopers did.

Snap broke at unboxing, sheath is plastic, made in China. Just overall poor quality. I should have done better research before purchasing.

I finally recieved the correct item, M3 Trench Knife, and needed to send the bayonet back. Very sharp. Leather handle need cleaned up. Main problem is that the guard is covered in rust and loose. I will do some work on it.

Es una belleza, tiene mango de piel real. Además la hoja viene muy afilada, da una sensación real.
