Thus unit is not a 12 volt laser, it is actually a 110 volt plug in powering a 5 volt laser, it is very weak and of no use to me on my sawmill. Definitely going to be returning this.

I've used green laser pointers that make lines before for gaming purposes, but this takes that to a whole other scale! Super bright, super long reach (so watch where you're pointing it obviously).I used this to line up pavers, the main issue was that I had to improvise the mounting since what came with it was not really compatible with the tripod I have. That's a me problem, but I still would have appreciated more options there. Getting power to it was also a little bit of an issue, but since I was near the house I just needed a long extension cord to an outdoor outlet. So it does what it should, just make sure you have appropriate equipment to mount it to and be careful.

Laser projects fairly well, but has significant fading of intensity toward the edges. I got this to go with another that I have that I use for a bog effect at Halloween. My other laser doesn't have as much fading at the edges. Be careful when buying if you need an intense beam across a wide area.

It worked well for a few weeks then stopped working. It was 2 months later before I had time to test and diagnose the problem. Now my return window has closed. I can’t recommend this
