Installed in a 1983 MCM140 Mercruiser engine. Pretty simple operation just make sure, at least in my case, that you get the 3/8' thread instead of the more popular 1/2" thread. Considering marine product costs this was a real bargain. Delivery was fast and no problem whatsoever with the seller.

Installed in new cast iron thermostat housing for Mercruiser inline 4cyl 3.0L. Used lots of never seize because old one would not come out of seawater corroded old housing. Works great. I like that it didn't have a mystery thread lock material already applied. I like to know exactly what is on the threads.

I installed it on my 4.3 liter v6 mercury cruiser, it doesn’t work! I don’t use the boat very much so I didn’t bother complaining about it

I have a Mercruiser drive train, gauges were set up for Mercruiser; however, resistance range is wrong. These manufacturers need to at least list estimated resistance range. I understand they are not very accurate, and you can't guarantee exact resistance, but at least tell us an estimated range. No where near correct reading at gauge.

My Mercruiser 4.3 Liter V6 calls for a 140 degree thermostat. First issue was the brass piece, which I highly doubt is brass, does not contain cutouts for the water passages in the thermostat housing. Second, and this was after all of the prep work and installing the thermostat and the housing, I did the conversion from centigrade to Fahrenheit. 70 degrees Celsius equals 160 degrees not 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Now what?

The listing has it as a 3/8" thread. However it is a 1/2" thread. I've reordered a replacement but the identical item was reshipped to me.Waiting for a refund.
