I got this for sucking water off the top of my pool cover in the winter. I say that to keep things in perspective - as the noise level makes no difference to me at all. It might be noisy, but i would not know it because it is out by the pool and I am in the house. When it gets plugged by debris is makes a lot of noise, but that is great because then I hear it in the house and can run out and declog it (I have a screen on it now, so that does not happen anymore). It seems to pump over 300 gallons per hour, but I have no way to measure it. I have used it all winter, and have had no issues. Works great.

[UPDATE] I had a minor issue that revealed a flaw. I sucked up some string from my bilge that disabled the pump. This lead to me needing to remove the plate on the pump housing to clean it out. The screws are really soft and I was only able to remove two of them. The other two stripped and I will have to use my angle grinder to turn them into flathead screws so they can be removed. I was able to bend the plate and remove the debri and replace the pieces. After which the pump still works, but now with a minor leak-- not a big deal. Just be careful with these screws. They are super cheap pot-metal. [END UPDATE]So far so good. Pumps are often fickle mistresses, so I'll remain skeptical until I get years of use out of it. But, so far it has done exactly what I need it to do -- I'm using it to pump my bilge on my boat until I can install a more permanent bilge pump. I hope to keep this as a back up bilge pump. If I remember, I'll post an update.

Functions as expected but it’s louder than I anticipated.

Used this as a recirculating pump for a pool heater. Threw a long black hose on my neighbors roof in the summer time. Real hot days, plug this in and you would really be surprised the temp difference.. redneck pool heater that was ok. But the pump was really loud. I put the pool closer to my neighbors house so we could slide off the roof and built a play house with a slide into the pool as well. This pumped worked to turn our pool into a water park for pretty cheap. The pump was so loud though the neighbors would unplug it when I left it on and no one was enjoying the pool. I covered it with a bucket and a mat and you couldn’t even hear it. When it came time to drain the pool I hooked up the pump.. it took 2 days. Idk what was the deal, it had good flow, maybe it’s just a big pool..? I thought it drained faster on its own last year. Decent pump but be prepared for the noise

We have a birdbath/fountain that holds about six gallons of water and needs to be cleaned monthly. This pump works terrific for it. I mounted it on a 12" X 10" board to make it sit upright in the grass but otherwise it is as it came out of the box, with the addition of a section of stiff garden hose to use as a suction line. It will empty the fountain in about 5 minutes.

My basement flooded with about 3 inches of water and although we used a sump pump to get it out, I could still see water standing in the drainage hole. This indicated that there was water still standing under the basement floor and a little rain would cause it to rise back up into the my basement. Searches every hardware store, Lowe's and Home Depot looking for something that I could use to pull and pump out that water....no luck, until I ran across this pump. Wasn't sure it would work but thought for the price I'd give it a try. It came in 2 days, fully assembled and ready to use which was great since it had rained for 2 day before and sure enough I had water in the basement. (City drainage system is garbage and permanent fix would cost me $10K) Set this pump up and four hours later my basement was water-free!! and there was no standing water in the drainage holes. While it was running I went outside to check the flow of water to determine the rate of removal and I was shocked to see that it was flowing like someone had turned on a faucet!!! The packages says 300+ gallons per hour and it's not lying....at the rate it was removing water and the speed I would guess it removed about 1500 gallons from under my house (40x100 Lot). I am certainly ordering another just to have on hand just in case this one goes out....at this price hell I should order 10. When I figure out how to post the video I took of the water pumping from my house I will post. This pump is incredible!!

I just paid $90 for very basic primitive looking pump which requires constant oiling before each use. Pump does its job, it moves the water. But boy, isn’t it noisy? Feels like it’s about to break down on you.I feel that pricing isn’t right for this product.I’ll consider returning it. Not a happy customer here.
