I was looking for something to use in my kitchen cabinet above the stove and microwave oven. I wanted to be able to turn the power off for the microwave without a fuss. It was a hassle to get a foot stool and get into the back of the cabinet to unplug it, which is the only way to turn it off. Since it has a touch screen, it gets smudges from fingers, and of course since it is above the range it can get build up from cooking. I would try to clean it, and the screen buttons are so "touchy ", it would go crazy. And yes, I checked the user's manual, and there isn't any type of lock feature to use for cleaning (I think that it is a major design flaw, even my touch screen thermostat has a screen clean option), it specifically says to unplug it to clean the screen! So I found this and plugged my microwave into it and placed it in the front of the cabinet - now all I have to do is reach up there to shut it off, take a few seconds to clean, then turn it back on. I have to reset the clock every time, but it's still an easier process.

Does exactly what I expected of it. Seems to be holding up well. The green light on the switch is convenient.
