Since pinballs and Shoot-the-Moon balls will vary by manufacturer, please be sure you are ordering the correct size. This nostalgic wooden game first became popular in the USA in the 1940's and has been engaging game lovers ever since. Manipulate the metal rods to project the metal ball up the slope towards you to drop it into Pluto. Open the rods too much, and the ball will drop too soon into Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn earning the player less points. It's an incredibly addictive game that will have the whole family shooting the metal ball down the rails and shooting for the moon! Seems simple enough right? I was worried this ball would be too small for the "Shoot the Moon" game, but after comparing it to an original, it seems to be about the same, and certainly close enough to work. I haven't actually measured it with a caliper yet, but I'm satisfied with it.

I had bought a Shoot-The-Moon game recently & although the game came with a steel ball, I know that with a couple of kids, a dog & a cat running around our house, that the ball will probably get lost at some point, so I decided it would be a very good idea to order an extra ball just so we can still play our game if that happens!! This extra ball I ordered came very promptly & is absolutely perfect for our game....so now that I know I have a back-up, I can now rest easy & know that we will get plenty of enjoyment from our game!!! And I am very glad to know I can always come back & order even more of these steel balls because I am very happy with this purchase & the awesome quality of the product & service.....very highly recommend!!!!!

Had no idea where I would get one the right size. I work in a ball bearing warehouse and we didn't have any that were the right size. I went to Amazon and sure enough- I found it.

This is a replacement steel ball for the SHOOT THE MOON......which is a VERY GOOD game of skill but they actually sent the wrong size ball.

Agree with other reviewers. This ball does a very good job of being a steel ball. Round, heavy, and rolly. Even came with a tiny storage pouch.

I bought this as a replacement to an older version of the shoot to the moon game, the one I have is called the Groove Move Jr. This ball works great and no issues with rust or anything when I received it in the mail.
