This set is a good basic tool set for recreational boaters. Add a calculator, protractor, chronometer and carry case and your ready to start plotting (assuming you've got charts, a magnetic compass and scratch paper). The quality of Weems & Plath products is well established and makes the price charged by this vendor fair. Vendor wrapped the product securely and shipped it

The plotter and parallel rule are high quality, well built and easy to use. Unfortunately the divider broke during the first use. Still recommend the kit.

The dial portion (knob) consistently slips (fails to turn the outer wheel to which it is attached, and for which it is designed) about 99% of the time. Poor quality. Unfortunately I purchased over a year ago and started using regularly a month ago. Lesson learned. Test gear thoroughly soon after purchasing!

Great kit for learning and practice chart plotting. The protractor is a bit too delicate for my taste, I would prefer it to be made of a thicker plastic. Actually, the first one they sent cracked and broke in cold weather during shipment (winter time in Canada). But seller sent a replacement immediately. Kudos to O&P Fulfillment for taking immediate action on this one.
