Not very protective. Material is easily burnt through and eventually caught fire. Though it does block most sparks

I use this to reduce the glare inside my helmet from backlight. Using it makes it easier for me to see the puddle. As a plus, using it replaces the need for a cap.

I like it, it does what it's supposed to do, but the material is a little thin so I work outside and the sun still passes through this material. Also it could be just a couple of inches longer. I'm still happy with it and I'm glad I purchased it.
