I am not an air conditioning specialist, but I prefer to know when the pros are telling me something plausible. I got this kit during a recent heat wave when the AC was barely keeping up. With the help of a couple of You Tube videos I was able to diagnose the issue and avoid getting a technician during the highest demand time of the year. Now when I do need to call a technician, I will at least know that I really need him and will have some sort of head start on the probable causes. In a pinch I believe that I am now able to do just about everything short of repairing the pressurized system hardware.I have no idea if this is as high a quality product as the professionals use, but I am pretty impressed so far. The gages and fittings are solid and functional. The fittings are the low volume connectors that limit the loss of refrigerant. I can do everything that I know how to do with these tools.I notice that a lot of other manifold sets include gloves, and I did add a set of gloves to my kit, just so that I would always have them. I don't believe that the gloves should be a part of the delivered set though, since everyone already has plenty of them, or could get them easily enough. I also don't feel the need for a vacuum pump since I will let the pros do the evacuation and recapture as they will be more likely to protect the environment from any accidental releases.If you have some understanding of HVAC systems, access to You Tube, and an unwillingness to be at the mercy of the Heat and Air companies, this is a pretty good set to own.

You don't want to cross contaminate manifold gauge sets with different types of refrigerants, but this set does come with everything a guy needs to tap into R134A systems on vehicles, or R410A HVAC systems. For me, this set is going to be a designated 134A system for our second shop. The build quality of the manifold seems higher than the equipment I'm currently using. The manifold features has a folding hook that tucks behind itself when stored in the case.Speaking of the case, while I recognize that in a shop environment, this set will be taken out of its case, and left out, the blow-molded case itself is well made with good latches, and foam inserts that hold the manifold and accessories safely and securely.
