This is a sturdy belt! I got the small size of the brown belt with the silver buckle that has a gold bull. The bull is shiny gold. The "silver" background of the buckle is more like a bronze with a gold cast to it (maybe reflection from the gold bull?).The belt measured 40" long (not 39"). The buckle measurements were about correct. (I measured that it was 3 6/16" long.) The belt itself is just shy of 1.5" wide. It seems quite durable -- way thicker than some belts I've seen. As a result, I don't think you'll have the holes start to loosen or rip. Because of the thickness of the material, I don't think the buckle will come off the attached end. There are three screws holding the folded material down after wrapping around the buckle: a pair close to the buckle and then one at the far end. That means the flap can lift a bit at the end. The only reason that this might matter is because the belt loop is also right there. However, as you can see from my comment below, you don't need the belt loop. The pattern is embossed well throughout the belt.I LOVE that the buckle has a metal piece that tucks into the belt so the tail of the belt curls into your body under the belt rather than over the belt and into the strap. That causes the belt to dangle if you're wearing it with a dress, which was my purpose. (I avoided belts for most of my life but now see the purpose in having a few.)I wish I could keep this belt but it is too orange of a brown color. It would look best with a simple outfit (shirts of one color with jeans, for ex) like in the sample shown.

I loved it. Great leather and a super cute buckle. Buckle is strong and secure once fastened. Over all a super cute belt. It does run alittle small though, I ordered a 33-36 but will definitely order again in a size up so it's more comfortable. Really great belt for the price!
