As we get older we get the chills in our feet and hands, to have the bed warmed provides a comfort and also makes it easier to fall asleep. I turn the pad on about 30 minutes before I go to bed, then turn it off, I don't want to overheat myself. I also have fewer blanket layers this year.

My husband had back surgery and can’t take having the weight of blankets on him. This electric pad is definitely the answer.

Pros: I like that there are many heat settings, and many different times available to have it stay warm. Heats up quickly. Fits snugly on 15" mattress.Cons: low setting still pretty warm. I use 2 and going lower too low. It has hot sots and many areas that don't get warm, at least on low setting still pretty. Higher setting temperature is too high, even by on number.When I purchased this I thought it was for a dual control but I did not read it as well as I should have. The queen and the king size do have little controls but when you get to a full size it only has one. If you are old-fashioned and a couple has a full bed you will be disappointed. I don't imagine there's too many people of my age or older that still sleep together on a full mattress.

I bought the mattress pad in queen size, and it came with two (rather clunky) controls, one for each half of the pad. This mattress pad was sufficient, though, like many other people in the comments, I found myself overheating at the core while my feet with freezing. I tried flipping it, with the controllers at the head instead, but I had the same problem. As such, I had to use it with a heating pad on my feet. Otherwise, it's soft enough, and the wires aren't terribly uncomfortable.One half of the pad stopped heating and started giving error messages on the control after just more than two months of use. Unplugging and replugging, adjusting, etc hasn't worked. I've put in a warranty claim, but given the form, I'm not holding my breath. If I receive a satisfactory resolution, I'll update my review.

We are enjoying getting into a nice warm bed with our new heated mattress pad. The dual control is a nice feature, and you only have to turn it on for a few minutes before it’s toasty warm.
